Australian Defence Force GP Registrar
Australian Defence Force (ADF) GP Registrars are required to meet the same training requirements as other GP Registrars enrolled in the Training Program. Given the nature of their duties with the ADF, certain aspects of training are undertaken in a combination of military and civilian posts. Because of the service demands on ADF GP Registrars, it is highly recommended that, where possible, they undertake a full-time civilian GPT1 term during their post-intern year. This term must meet all of the requirements of a GPT1 post. ADF GP Registrars are permitted to transfer their training location, provided such a transfer is in association with ADF postings. TMT has had many ADF GP Registrars complete their training, and applicants from the ADF should advise TMT of their circumstances during the application process.
