Training Qualifications

FRACGP/FACRRM

TMT's GP Training Program is designed to prepare GP Registrars to be eligible for Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) and/or Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM), and vocational recognition as a general practitioner under Medicare. Prerequisites for FRACGP and/or FACRRM and vocational recognition are:
  • Satisfactorily completing the required period of training;
  • Satisfactorily meeting the educational requirements of training;
  • Passing the RACGP and/or ACRRM college examinations/assessment;
  • Meeting such other requirements as outlined in the policy Australian General Practice Training Requirements for Formal Completion of Training (Refer Policies section of AGPT website www.agpt.com.au).
 Both FRACGP and FACRRM lead to vocational recognition as a general practitioner in Australia.

FELLOWSHIP IN ADVANCED RURAL GENERAL PRACTICE
TMT also offers training for the award of Fellowship in Advanced Rural General Practice (FARGP) offered by the RACGP. This award, like the FACRRM, aims to produce doctors who can function as safe and independent practitioners across a range of rural and remote settings in Australia. GP Registrars must complete the additional requirements designated by the RACGP to be eligible for the conferment of this award.
